Remedial Massage (Swedish)

Aims to help treat common strains and reduces pain. It may aid chronic conditions which cause muscle tension or weakness. Treatment may include working deeply or lightly depending on the condition, joint mobilisation, passive stretches and deep breathing.  It can improve general movement and mobility.

Louise incorporates several techniques including:

Soft Tissue Release (STR)

a specialised technique using a deep fixed pressure at the sight of injury/spasm.

Connective Tissue Massage (CTM)

a specialist therapy using strong picking up movements of connective tissue or fascia which releases tension and fibrosity in large muscles and connective tissue around joints.

Therapeutic Massage

generates warmth and energy to the muscles and releases tension as well as easing aches caused by stress.  It may improve blood flow and lymphatic circulation and has many benefits for the body and mind, promoting relaxation and well-being.

Your first treatment will include a full medical history and identifying what needs specific attention and what massage technique will best suit your needs.

Please note that remedial and therapeutic massage deals with muscles and soft tissue and requires a hands-on treatment and a degree of undress is essential. You will always be protected with towels, but soft comfortable clothing is advisable and if you wish, you are welcome to bring someone with you.

Treatment includes consultation and will last approximately 1 hour, sessions are £45
